Compartment Divider & Separator 950x180x15 mm – Pallet Box/Plastic Pallet Collar – lock-it© HD MAXI180M Slot-In Divider Strip

Compartment Divider & Separator 950x180x15 mm – Pallet Box/Plastic Pallet Collar – lock-it© HD MAXI180M Slot-In Divider Strip

The plastic Compartment Divider & Separator 950x180x15 mm is a robust, cut-to-size slot-in divider strip for subdividing pallet boxes, plastic pallet collars, GLTs, Paloxes, large load carriers, containers and crates. As a lock-it© HD MAXI180M slot-in divider strip, it forms a variable plastic compartment grid for the organised storage, sorting, staging and internal transport of technical components.

Typical applications include turned parts, milled parts, shafts, bushes, rings, flanges, fittings, fasteners, plastic parts as well as painted, coated or powder-coated components. The 180 mm high and 15 mm thick separator strip is particularly suitable for tall, larger or tipping-prone components that require pronounced lateral guidance and a robust divider wall.

Anyone wishing to subdivide a pallet box, equip a pallet collar with compartments or create a compartment grid for GLTs can cut the 950 mm long strip to the usable internal dimensions and combine it lengthwise and crosswise with additional slot-in divider strips. The 37 mm grid allows uniform or mixed compartment sizes that can be adapted to component geometry, quantity, picking method and process flow.

In many production, storage and logistics areas, components are staged loose in pallet boxes, transport containers or on pallets with plastic pallet collars. As a result, parts can shift, become mixed, rub against one another or require considerable time to remove and assign. A compartment divider or separator creates a clearly recognisable internal structure and supports repeatable compartment positions, standardised material flows and organised component staging.

What is the lock-it© HD MAXI slot-in divider strip system?

The lock-it© HD MAXI system is the robust slot-in divider system within the lock-it© range of compartment dividers and separators for large load carriers. It was developed for GLTs, pallet boxes, Paloxes, pallet collars, large containers, transport crates and pallet-based load carriers where repeatable compartments, nests or compartment grids for technical components need to be created within a large internal space.

The basic principle is the same across all MAXI variants: several plastic slot-in divider strips are interlocked lengthwise and crosswise at the designated grid positions. This creates modular compartment grids, compartment nests and nesting arrangements, whose compartment sizes can be adapted to component geometry, quantity, removal direction and process requirements. The slot-in divider strips can be cut to the actual usable internal dimensions as required. With initial lengths of 750 mm, 950 mm and 1150 mm, many pallet-based applications, including systems with pallet collars, can be planned using practical standard lengths.

Important for system planning: The three lengths S, M and L within a MAXI height can be combined with one another. For example, MAXI180S, MAXI180M and MAXI180L can be used together within the same compartment grid. The same principle applies to MAXI55, MAXI120 and MAXI200. The different lengths allow lengthwise and crosswise compartments, nests and sub-areas with different dimensions to be created without changing the system principle.

Overview of the two MAXI lines

The taller MAXI180 and MAXI200 slot-in divider strips have a more robust design, with a 15 mm material thickness and a 37 mm grid, because taller divider walls must withstand a greater overturning moment under lateral loads; MAXI55 and MAXI120 use a 10 mm material thickness and a 28 mm grid for finer compartment layouts with good accessibility.

All 12 MAXI Slot-In Divider Strips in the System

The related variants can be accessed directly via their respective product names. MAXI180M is the variant currently described and is therefore deliberately not linked to itself in the tables. For a systematic overview of all heights, lengths and grids, the MAXI system category brings together the complete product family.

The variant designation follows a clear system: the number indicates the height, while the letter indicates the initial length – S = 750 mm, M = 950 mm, L = 1150 mm. Within the same height, S, M and L slot-in divider strips can be combined and cut to the required length. This makes the MAXI system a flexible divider, separator and compartment grid system for organising and separating components in GLTs, pallet boxes, pallet collars and other large containers.

Plastic Compartment Grids, Separators and Slot-In Divider Strips for Containers and Crates

The terms compartment divider, separator, compartment grid and slot-in divider strip describe different levels of the same separation system. The individual MAXI180M strip is a compartment divider or separator strip. Several strips interlocked lengthwise and crosswise form a plastic compartment grid, a divider comb or a modular container partition.

Depending on the operation and application, different terms are used for such divisions. MAXI180M is suitable both for general containers and crates and specifically for pallet boxes, GLTs, Paloxes and plastic pallet collars. The decisive factors are the usable internal dimensions, the required compartment size and the characteristics of the components to be stored.

Further designs and system variants can be found in the category Plastic Compartment Grids, Compartment Dividers, Separators and Slot-In Divider Strips. For robust large-container applications, the subcategory MAXI – lock-it© Compartment Dividers for GLTs, Pallet Boxes and Plastic Pallet Collars provides access to the available heights and lengths.

The slot-in divider strips help to make better use of existing load carriers and adapt compartment positions to the actual component requirements.

Why the Compartment Divider & Separator 950x180x15 mm – MAXI180M Is Useful for GLTs, Pallet Boxes and Large Load Carriers

Large load carriers and pallet boxes provide a large amount of usable interior space. Without compartment division, however, smaller, medium-sized or larger components are often loaded in an unstructured manner. This results in free movement within the container, unclear item allocation and increased effort for removal, inventory control and order picking.

With the MAXI180M slot-in divider strip, a large container becomes a structured load carrier. Individual compartments can be assigned to specific SKUs, component variants, assemblies, customer orders or process stages. The 180 mm high divider wall is particularly suitable when tall, larger or upright components require pronounced lateral guidance, clear separation and organised staging.

A defined compartment division particularly supports

• Production supply and material staging
• Kanban and replenishment systems
• Order picking and kit formation
• Sequencing of components
• Intermediate storage of semi-finished and finished parts
• Quality Assurance and Inspection Areas
• Goods In and Goods Out
• Reusable transport cycles between plant, supplier and customer
• Spare parts and maintenance logistics
• Workshop and operating equipment organisation

Employees can identify more quickly which part belongs in which compartment and whether a position is already empty. This simplifies inventory control and supports standardised staging at assembly or production workstations.

Component separation, internal organisation and support for positive-fit packing concepts

The MAXI180M slot-in divider strip is primarily used as a compartment divider, separator and separation system within a container or load carrier. The divider walls organise components, limit free movement within the individual compartments and reduce the direct mixing of different items. This allows the slot-in divider strip to support the formation of an organised load unit and, with a suitable configuration, help reduce free spaces within a pallet box or pallet collar.

For recurring series, assembly sequences or pre-picked sets, components can be staged in defined positions. However, the slot-in divider strips do not automatically constitute tested proof of complete load securing on a road vehicle. The container, pallet, plastic pallet collar, fill level, centre of gravity, lid, strapping, interlayers, friction and other securing means must always be matched to the load, vehicle and transport route.

Compartment Dividers, Pallet Boxes and Plastic Pallet Collars in the Context of Load Securing

Please note that the following information on load securing refers to German law, German technical guidelines and German statutory accident insurance institutions (Berufsgenossenschaften). A compartment divider can separate components from one another within a pallet box, a GLT or a pallet with a plastic pallet collar. For road transport, it must additionally be assessed whether the complete load unit is adequately secured on the vehicle. Section 22 of the German Road Traffic Regulations requires loads, loading equipment and means of load securing to be stowed and secured in such a way that they cannot shift, tip over, roll back and forth or fall off, even during emergency braking or sudden evasive manoeuvres. The recognised rules of technology must be observed.

The VDI 2700 series of guidelines on load securing on road vehicles provides key technical guidance. BG Verkehr explains load distribution and load securing and recommends, among other things, a suitable vehicle, positive-fit stowage wherever possible, the closing of free spaces and – where necessary – additional securing means.

For palletised load units, DGUV Information 208-048 – Securing Palletised Load Units provides further guidance on stresses during transport and stacking as well as on possible securing methods. In addition, BG Verkehr compiles specialist information on loading and unloading, load distribution and the safe handling of vehicles in its “Loading and Securing” topic area.

What the Compartment Divider & Separator 950x180x15 mm – MAXI180M Can Do – and What Must Be Checked Separately

• MAXI180M provides: structured compartment division, component separation, defined removal positions and support for an organised packing arrangement.
• Also to be checked: load capacity of the pallet and container, centre of gravity, load distribution, stability of the complete load unit and securing on the vehicle.
• Depending on the application, the following may be required: lids, strapping, stretch or shrink securing, anti-slip materials, interlayers, padding, edge protection or lashing equipment.
• Important: The specific configuration must be assessed for the particular application; the slot-in divider strip alone does not replace a risk assessment or load securing calculation.

Component Protection Through Separate Compartments

If metal parts, turned parts, milled parts or coated components lie loose in a pallet box, they can knock against one another, rub against one another or become wedged during handling. This can lead to scratches, pressure marks, chipping, contamination or increased inspection and rework effort.

By subdividing the container into individual compartments, the components are mechanically separated from one another. They remain more clearly arranged and can be removed selectively. Particularly for components with sensitive surfaces, the slot-in divider strip can be combined with foam, non-woven material, plastic interlayers or other protective materials.

Typical Components for a MAXI180M Compartment Division

• Turned parts and milled parts
• Stamped and bent metal parts
• Fittings, flanges and fasteners
• Bolts, sleeves, bushes and rings
• Shafts, pins and elongated components
• Plastic parts and injection-moulded parts
• Painted, coated or powder-coated components
• Surface-finished visible parts
• Assembly components and assemblies
• Spare and wear parts
• Technical series-production parts with recurring geometry

The 180 mm height is particularly suitable for tall components, components arranged upright or lying flat, and applications requiring greater lateral guidance than MAXI55 or MAXI120. For particularly tall, heavy or highly tipping-prone components, MAXI200 should also be considered.

37 mm Grid for Flexible and Repeatable Compartment Sizes

The 37 mm grid is a key feature of the MAXI180M slot-in divider strip. It enables systematic positioning of the intersection points and therefore flexible compartment planning. Depending on the container size and component geometry, narrow, wide, short, elongated or mixed compartment sizes can be created.

The grid allows compartment sizes to be repeated. This is particularly practical when several pallet boxes or large load carriers are to be equipped identically. Once a compartment division has been defined, it can be replicated for additional containers and integrated into series processes.

Possible Compartment Concepts

• Uniform compartments for single-type series-production parts
• Compartments arranged in rows for turned parts, bushes or flanges
• Elongated channels for shafts, pins or profiles
• Wider compartments for assemblies and assembly kits
• Separate areas for different article numbers
• Compartment division by size, variant, colour or processing status
• Compartment division by production or inspection step
• Mixed compartment sizes within a GLT or pallet box
• Partial subdivisions in which only selected areas of the container are compartmentalised

The suitable compartment size should not be based solely on the external dimensions of the component. Grip space, removal direction, tolerances, surface sensitivity, fill level and possible movements during transport must also be taken into account.

Can be cut to container and pallet dimensions

The MAXI180M slot-in divider strip is supplied with an initial length of 950 mm. It can be cut to the required internal dimension. This means that it is not limited to a specific container type but can be adapted to different pallet boxes, GLTs, crates, plastic pallet collars and special load carriers.

Before cutting, the actual usable internal dimensions should be measured. For pallet boxes and large load carriers, wall contours, reinforcing ribs, slopes, radii, access openings, flaps and existing fittings must be taken into account in addition to length and width. For pallets with plastic pallet collars, it must also be checked how the slot-in divider strips are positioned on the pallet surface and held in place to prevent unwanted shifting.

Suitable for Different Load Carriers

• GLTs and Large Load Carriers
• Plastic pallet boxes
• Paloxes and bulk containers
• Rigid and foldable large containers
• Plastic pallets with plastic pallet collars
• Euro pallets with suitable plastic pallet collars
• Euro pallets with suitable wooden pallet collars
• Industrial crates and transport crates
• Reusable containers and returnable packaging
• Special load carriers with a suitable interior

The cut-to-size design is particularly advantageous when different load carrier sizes are used within the operation or when a specific compartment structure is required for a particular component.

PP/PE Recycling Mix

The lock-it© HD MAXI180M slot-in divider strip is made from a PP/PE recycling mix as standard. The material is suitable for numerous standard applications in storage, production, workshops, intralogistics and transport. The plastic construction is not sensitive to moisture, robust and suitable for recurring use in reusable containers.

The recycling mix provides an economical and resource-efficient solution for many industrial applications. Virgin material can be requested for specific projects. According to the product information, a minimum total weight of 500 kg must be taken into account for both virgin material and special colours.

Special colours can be useful when compartment systems, item groups, customers, production lines or process stages are to be visually identified. The specific material and colour specification should be agreed before ordering.

Use in Pallet Boxes, Paloxes and Large Load Carriers

Pallet boxes and Paloxes are frequently used for loose, heavy or bulky goods. For smaller technical components, however, the available interior often remains unstructured without a compartment grid. The MAXI180M slot-in divider strip enables a clearly structured internal division without the need to immediately design a fixed custom compartment grid for every application.

Typical Applications in Pallet Boxes and GLTs

• Stage series-production parts in fixed rows
• Separate different item variants within a container
• Sort turned and milled parts by dimension
• Separate coated components from one another
• Arrange assembly components in a defined sequence
• Buffer semi-finished parts between processing steps
• Keep inspection parts and approved parts separate
• Collect returned parts, rework parts and good parts in separate areas
• Standardise reusable containers for internal plant transport

The 180 mm height combines stronger lateral guidance with continued ease of removal planning. For multi-layer packing concepts or particularly tall components, MAXI180M can be combined with interlayers or taller compartment divider variants, provided the configuration is suitable for the application.

Plastic Pallets as the Basis for Pallet Collars and the Compartment Divider & Separator 950x180x15 mm – MAXI180M

A pallet collar is always used in combination with a suitable pallet. The pallet therefore forms a functional part of the overall system comprising pallet, pallet collar and compartment divider. The plastic pallet forms the load-bearing base, the pallet collar provides lateral containment and the lock-it© HD MAXI180M slot-in divider strips subdivide the interior into defined compartments.

Suitable load carriers can be found in the product category Plastic Pallets for Storage, Transport and Pallet Collar Systems. For standardised Euro load units, 1200×800 mm plastic pallets in Euro pallet format are particularly suitable, provided that the load capacity, deck design and operating conditions are appropriate for the application.

In combination with a suitable plastic pallet collar or pallet frame, an open pallet can be extended into a structured transport, storage and staging system. The pallet collars can be made of plastic or wood. It is essential that the internal dimensions, pallet surface, frame construction, component weight and planned compartment division are coordinated with one another.

The cut-to-size MAXI180M slot-in divider strips can be arranged lengthwise and crosswise. This creates defined holding areas for turned parts, milled parts, shafts, fittings, cartons, trays or technical components. The combination is particularly suitable for reusable logistics, order picking, production supply and internal transport.

Benefits of Combining a Pallet, Pallet Collar and Compartment Divider

• Existing pallets can be used as modular load carriers
• Compartment sizes can be adapted to components and quantities
• Components remain more clearly arranged within the pallet footprint
• Item variants and processing statuses can be kept separate
• The load unit is suitable for storage, order picking and internal transport
• Pallet collars and slot-in divider strips can be integrated into reusable logistics cycles
• When products change, the compartment division can be adapted or replaced

For applications in Euro format, suitable load carriers can be found in the Plastic Pallets category. Foldable and reusable frames can be found in the Plastic Pallet Collars and Pallet Frames category.

Use in Warehousing and Intralogistics

In storage and intralogistics, components must be clearly assigned, quickly located and safely moved between different process stations. The MAXI180M slot-in divider strip structures the interior of large load carriers and supports fixed item positioning.

Typical Areas of Application in Warehouse Logistics

• Series-production parts storage
• Spare Parts Storage
• Kanban and supermarket areas
• Order-Picking Stations
• Goods In and Goods Out
• Production Supply
• Intermediate and buffer storage
• Quality Assurance
• Shipping Preparation
• Empty-container and reusable packaging management

A structured load carrier saves search time and facilitates inspection. If identical compartments are used in several containers, item positions, quantities and removal sequences can be standardised.

Use in Production and Assembly

In production, components are often staged directly at machines, machining centres or assembly lines. Loose parts in a pallet box make it more difficult to maintain an overview and can lead to mix-ups. With a MAXI180M compartment division, components can be arranged by process step, variant or assembly sequence.

Potential Applications in Production and Assembly

• Provision of Assembly Components
• Sorting by operation or processing status
• Separation of similar item variants
• Creation of assembly kits and assembly sets
• Supply of machines and assembly lines
• Interim Storage of Semi-Finished Parts
• Organisation of inspection and approved parts
• Prototype construction and small-series production
• Standardised staging in series production
• Return of empty reusable containers with reusable compartment division

For recurring processes, each load carrier can be configured in the same way. This facilitates familiarisation, reduces mix-ups and supports visually traceable process management.

Use for Turned Parts, Milled Parts and Metal Components

The MAXI180M slot-in divider strip is particularly suitable for applications in metalworking. Turned parts, milled parts, bushes, rings, flanges and fittings can be arranged in individual compartments or rows. The defined separation reduces direct mixing and makes removal easier for subsequent machining, inspection or assembly processes.

Uniform compartments can be created for round or rotationally symmetrical components. Mixed compartment sizes are possible for different diameters or variants. It is important to provide sufficient clearance for inserting and removing the components without creating unnecessarily large spaces for movement.

Typical Applications in Metalworking

• Sort turned parts by diameter or article number
• Separate milled parts by processing stage
• Stage bushes, rings and flanges in fixed positions
• Keep good parts, inspection parts and rework spatially separated from one another
• Transport workpieces between machining centres
• Pre-pick finished parts for packaging and dispatch
• Organise standard parts and fasteners in larger load carriers

Use for Coated, Painted and Powder-Coated Components

Components with sensitive surfaces require particularly careful separation. Painted, galvanised, coated or powder-coated parts can be damaged by direct contact. The MAXI180M slot-in divider strip creates defined compartment boundaries and reduces direct contact between adjacent components.

The plastic slot-in divider strip provides mechanical separation but does not replace soft protective packaging. Depending on the surface requirements, a combination with non-woven material, foam, protective films, plastic sheets or suitable interlayers may be appropriate. For visible parts and high-quality surfaces, the compartment geometry should be designed to take edges, corners and contact points into account.

Use for Shafts, Pins and Elongated Components

With a lengthwise compartment structure, the MAXI180M slot-in divider strip can also be used to organise shafts, pins, bolts, profiles and other elongated components. Parallel slot-in divider strips form individual channels in which the components lie separately alongside one another.

The 180 mm height provides pronounced lateral guidance for elongated components arranged upright or lying flat. For heavy, rolling or tall parts, it must be checked whether additional securing measures, higher slot-in divider strips, support prisms, interlayers or another structural solution are required.

Possible Applications for Elongated Parts

• Store shafts and axles in parallel rows
• Separate pins and bolts by length or diameter
• Stage small profiles and bars in an organised manner
• Transport machined round parts between production stages
• Arrange series-production parts in a defined quantity per compartment

Use in Workshops and Maintenance

Larger crates, pallet boxes or pallet-based containers are also used in workshops and maintenance for spare parts, operating supplies and repair components. The MAXI180M slot-in divider strip allows these load carriers to be structured more clearly.

Typical Workshop Applications

• Sort spare parts by system or machine
• Assemble repair and maintenance kits
• Separate fittings, flanges and fasteners
• Organise tool accessories and operating equipment
• Stage wear parts in an organised manner
• Store removed parts and replacement parts separately
• Structure mobile material crates for maintenance operations

A fixed compartment assignment helps to check stock levels more quickly and identify missing parts at an early stage. Particularly for recurring maintenance tasks, a standardised compartment structure can simplify preparation.

Use in Internal Transport and Reusable Logistics Cycles

During internal transport, loose components in pallet boxes or GLTs can shift and become mixed. With a MAXI180M compartment division, item groups remain better separated from one another. This facilitates transfer between storage, production, assembly, quality assurance and dispatch.

The robust plastic construction is suitable for recurring applications. Within closed reusable logistics cycles, load carriers can be used repeatedly with the same compartment structure. This is particularly practical when components regularly circulate between supplier, plant, processing station and customer.

For sensitive or heavy components, the compartment division should be combined with suitable lids, interlayers, padding materials or additional securing elements. The specific configuration depends on weight, centre of gravity, surface, transport route and handling.

Industries and Typical Areas of Application

The lock-it© HD MAXI180M slot-in divider strip can be used across a wide range of industries wherever technical components need to be organised, separated and repeatedly staged in pallet boxes, plastic pallet collars or GLTs. Depending on the operation and application, the system is also referred to as a compartment divider, separator, compartment grid, slot-in divider strip, divider comb, subdivider, compartment insert or component separation system.

Automotive and Vehicle Manufacturing

In the automotive industry and among suppliers, compartment dividers can be used for brackets, flanges, fittings, stamped parts, plastic components and pre-assembled assemblies. Identical compartment grids support repeatable container concepts for production supply, sequencing, quality assurance and internal plant transport.

Mechanical Engineering, Metalworking and Machining

Turned parts, milled parts, bushes, rings, shafts and machined workpieces can be separated by SKU, dimension or processing status. The robust slot-in divider strip is suitable for pallet boxes and large load carriers in which smaller metal parts would otherwise be loosely mixed.

Surface Technology, Painting and Powder Coating

For painted, galvanised or powder-coated components, a separator reduces direct contact between adjacent parts. For high-quality visible surfaces, the compartment grid can be combined with foam, non-woven material or additional protective layers.

Plastics Processing, Electrical Engineering and Equipment Manufacturing

Injection-moulded parts, housings, connectors, assemblies and technical components can be staged in defined compartments. This facilitates variant management, kit preparation and the supply of assembly workstations.

Intralogistics, Reusable Transport Cycles and Spare Parts Logistics

In storage and reusable logistics processes, a standardised compartment division ensures clear item positions. Pallet boxes, GLTs or pallets with plastic pallet collars can be prepared for recurring cycles between supplier, production, assembly, service and customer.

MAXI180M Compared with Other MAXI Variants

MAXI180M is the 950 mm version of the 180 mm high MAXI Heavy line. The key factors when selecting the appropriate MAXI variant are component height, component weight, required lateral guidance, usable internal container dimensions, compartment size and accessibility during removal.

MAXI Standard line: MAXI55 and MAXI120

MAXI55 and MAXI120 have a 10 mm material thickness and a 28 mm grid. Both heights are available in lengths of 750, 950 and 1150 mm. The three lengths within each height can be combined, allowing compartments and nests of different sizes to be created within a GLT, pallet box or pallet collar.

MAXI55 is particularly suitable for lower compartment structures with good accessibility. MAXI120 provides greater lateral guidance for medium-height components while using the same 28 mm grid and 10 mm material thickness.

MAXI Heavy line: MAXI180 and MAXI200

MAXI180 and MAXI200 have a 15 mm material thickness and a 37 mm grid. Both heights are also available in lengths of 750, 950 and 1150 mm and can be combined within the same height. They are designed for taller or heavier components where taller divider walls and more robust lateral guidance are required.

MAXI180 provides a 180 mm high compartment wall for tall, larger or tipping-prone components. MAXI200 increases the divider wall height to 200 mm and should be considered when particularly tall components require even greater lateral separation.

The selection of the appropriate variant depends on

• Component height and component geometry
• Component Weight
• required lateral guidance
• Container height and usable internal dimensions
• Number, shape and size of compartments or nests
• Transport route and handling
• Surface sensitivity
• Stacking and reusable logistics concept
• Manual or automated use
• Required accessibility during removal

750 mm, 950 mm or 1150 mm Initial Length?

Each MAXI height is available in three initial lengths: 750 mm (S), 950 mm (M) and 1150 mm (L). These lengths are not merely alternative individual sizes; together they form a variable slot-in divider system. Within the same MAXI height, S, M and L strips can be combined lengthwise and crosswise to create uniform or mixed compartments, nests and partial sections in GLTs, pallet boxes, pallet collars and other large containers.

MAXI180M is the medium-length variant of the 180 mm height. The 950 mm initial length allows longer continuous compartment walls than MAXI180S at 750 mm. For required cut lengths of up to 950 mm, MAXI180M can reduce residual material compared with MAXI180L at 1150 mm. If more than 950 mm of continuous strip length is required, MAXI180L is the appropriate initial-length variant. The actual usable internal dimensions of the load carrier remain the decisive factor.

For example, the MAXI180 variants MAXI180S, MAXI180M and MAXI180L can be used together within one compartment division. The same principle applies to MAXI55, MAXI120 and MAXI200. The standard lengths simplify planning, particularly on pallets and in pallet collars; in addition, each strip can be cut to the actual required internal dimension.

The usable internal dimensions of the load carrier are decisive. When planning the compartment layout, wall contours, ribs, slopes, radii, flaps, pallet surfaces, access space and the required compartment geometry should be taken into account. Choosing the most suitable initial length reduces unnecessary offcuts and makes it easier to build the compartment grid.

An overview of available heights and lengths can be found in the category MAXI – lock-it© Compartment Dividers for GLTs and Pallet Boxes.

MINI System or MAXI System?

The MINI system is designed for AKL containers, KLTs, Euro containers, standard containers, drawers and smaller to medium-sized components. It uses a material thickness of 5 mm and a 20 mm grid. This makes it particularly suitable for fine compartment divisions and compact containers.

The MAXI system is designed for GLTs, pallet boxes, Paloxes, plastic pallet collars, large load carriers and larger compartment structures. The slot-in divider strips have a more robust design and are available in different heights. MAXI180M, with a thickness of 15 mm and a height of 180 mm, provides a particularly robust compartment wall for tall, larger or tipping-prone components and pronounced lateral guidance.

In Brief

• MINI system: for AKL, KLTs, Euro containers, small parts and fine compartment divisions.
• MAXI system: for GLTs, pallet boxes, plastic pallet collars, larger load carriers and robust compartment structures.

For smaller containers and finer compartment divisions, suitable variants can be found in the category MINI – lock-it© Compartment Dividers.

Combination with Plastic Pallets, Euro Pallets and Plastic Pallet Collars

Plastic pallets, Euro pallets and suitable plastic pallet collars, together with the slot-in divider strips, form a modular load unit. The MAXI180M slot-in divider strip can be used as an internal compartment division in combination with a suitable pallet and matching plastic pallet collar. The pallet forms the load-bearing base, the plastic pallet collar provides lateral containment and the compartment dividers or separators structure the usable interior. This creates an adaptable load carrier from standardised components for storage, order picking, production supply and internal transport.

For Euro load units, for example, a 1200×800 mm plastic pallet can be combined with a 1200×800 mm plastic pallet collar. Whether these specific versions are suitable for the load weight, transport route and stacking concept must be checked against the respective technical data and the complete load unit.

When Is the Compartment Divider & Separator 950x180x15 mm the Right Choice?

The lock-it© HD MAXI180M slot-in divider strip is particularly suitable when a robust, 180 mm high and flexibly adaptable division is required for larger load carriers. It is particularly suitable for tall, larger or tipping-prone components that require pronounced lateral guidance and clear separation in pallet boxes, GLTs, Paloxes, crates or pallets with pallet collars.

The Compartment Divider & Separator 950x180x15 mm – MAXI180M is particularly suitable when

• a 180 mm compartment wall with pronounced lateral guidance is required,
• a robust 15 mm slot-in divider strip is required,
• a 37 mm grid is suitable for compartment planning,
• GLTs, pallet boxes, Paloxes or plastic pallet collars are used,
• tall, larger or tipping-prone technical components need to be separated,
• turned parts, milled parts, shafts or fittings need to be organised,
• coated or powder-coated components need to be separated from one another,
• an initial length of 950 mm is suitable for the planned installation direction,

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions About the MAXI180M Slot-In Divider Strip

What Is a Compartment Divider or Separator?

A compartment divider or separator is a separating element used to divide a container or load carrier into individual compartments. With MAXI180M, several cut-to-size slot-in divider strips are combined lengthwise and crosswise to create a variable compartment grid for components.

How Can I Subdivide a Pallet Box?

First, the usable internal dimensions and the dimensions of the components are determined. The MAXI180M slot-in divider strips are then cut to size and interlocked via the 37 mm grid to form longitudinal and transverse compartments. Ribs, slopes, flaps and the required grip space must be taken into account during planning.

What Do the Dimensions 950x180x15 mm Mean?

950 mm refers to the initial length of the slot-in divider strip, 180 mm to the height of the compartment wall and 15 mm to the material thickness. The strip can be cut to a shorter internal dimension.

Is MAXI180M a Plastic Compartment Divider, a Separator, a Compartment Grid or a Slot-In Divider Strip?

The individual MAXI180M strip is a plastic slot-in divider strip and can be referred to as a compartment divider or separator. Several cut-to-size and interlocked strips form the actual compartment grid, divider comb or compartment division within the container.

Which Containers and Crates Are the MAXI180M Separator Slot-In Divider Strips Suitable For?

The slot-in divider strips are particularly suitable for GLTs, pallet boxes, Paloxes, large load carriers, industrial crates, transport crates and pallets with a suitable pallet collar. The decisive factors are the actual usable internal dimensions, the internal contour as well as the weight, geometry and removal direction of the components.

What Role Does Plastic Play in a Compartment Divider or Separator?

Plastic describes the material and complements the actual product search for compartment dividers, separators, compartment grids or slot-in divider strips. The PP/PE version is not sensitive to moisture, robust, can be cut to size and is suitable for recurring applications in reusable containers. Whether it is suitable for specific temperature, hygiene, ESD or chemical requirements must be assessed for the application.

What Is the Compartment Divider & Separator 950x180x15 mm Used For?

The compartment divider & separator is used for the flexible subdivision of GLTs, pallet boxes, Paloxes, large load carriers, crates and pallets with pallet collars. It helps to store, stage and internally transport technical components, turned parts, milled parts, shafts, fittings and series-production parts in an organised manner.

What Does lock-it© HD MAXI180M Mean?

What is the lock-it© HD MAXI system?

The lock-it© HD MAXI system is the robust slot-in divider system within the lock-it© range of compartment dividers and separators for GLTs, pallet boxes, Paloxes, pallet collars and other large containers. Multiple strips are interlocked lengthwise and crosswise to create modular compartment grids, compartments or nests for technical components. Each height is available in lengths of 750, 950 and 1150 mm; the three lengths within the same height can be combined with one another and can also be cut to the required size.

Which MAXI lengths can be combined with one another?

Within each MAXI height, the lengths S = 750 mm, M = 950 mm and L = 1150 mm can be combined with one another. For MAXI180, MAXI180S, MAXI180M and MAXI180L can therefore be used together; the same applies to MAXI55, MAXI120 and MAXI200. This allows variable compartment sizes, nests and mixed compartment grids to be created in large load carriers.

Why do MAXI180 and MAXI200 use a different grid than MAXI55 and MAXI120?

MAXI180 and MAXI200 have a more robust design with a 15 mm material thickness and a 37 mm grid because taller divider walls must withstand a greater overturning moment under lateral loads. MAXI55 and MAXI120 use a 10 mm material thickness and a 28 mm grid, allowing finer compartment planning with low to medium divider wall heights.

Which MAXI line is suitable for my component?

MAXI55 and MAXI120 are suitable for low to medium-height components where finer compartment planning and good accessibility are important. MAXI180 and MAXI200 are designed for taller or heavier components that require greater lateral guidance and more robust divider walls.
