Plastic Compartment Inserts / Dividers for KLT and GLT Containers, Storage and Transport

Plastic compartment inserts, dividers, sub-dividers, separators, divider combs and divider strips are individually designed partitioning systems for the structured organisation, secure provision and component-friendly transport of components. They are custom-designed for KLT and GLT containers, stacking containers, pallet boxes, washing baskets and shipping packaging.

Plastic Union develops and manufactures custom plastic compartment inserts for packaging, intralogistics, automotive, electronics, mechanical engineering and other industrial applications. Depending on the requirements, solutions are punched, milled, slotted together, folded or welded – from prototype to series production.

You can find further solutions for complete load units and modular transport packaging in our main categories plastic pallets for storage, transport and export and plastic pallet collars and pallet frames.

What Do Plastic Compartment Inserts and Industrial Partitioning Systems Provide?

Optimum Use of Space and Higher Packing Density

Individually designed compartment geometries make targeted use of the available interior space in containers and packaging. Defined cell dimensions enable components to be arranged in an orderly manner, increase packing density and support an even load distribution within the load carrier.

Component Protection and Protection of Sensitive Surfaces

The spatial separation prevents direct frictional contact between individual components. This helps to reduce scratches, dents, pressure marks and other transport- or process-related damage. The components remain organised and separated from one another throughout the entire process chain – from production and storage through to provision and transport.

Process-Reliable in Intralogistics

Custom-fit dividers ensure a stable fit in KLT and GLT containers, stacking containers, pallet boxes and other load carriers. The partitioning systems can be designed for manual and automated processes, including order picking, sequencing, buffering, conveyor systems and organised provision at production lines.

Reusable, Robust and Low-Maintenance

Robust plastics, smooth surfaces and an application-specific design enable long service periods in industrial reusable processes. Many versions are moisture-resistant, easy to clean and low-maintenance. This makes plastic compartment inserts particularly suitable for recurring cycles in production, storage, transport and internal material flow.

Product Family and Designs

Die-Cut Plastic Compartment Inserts Based on Drawings or Sketches

Die-cut compartment inserts are manufactured precisely according to your specifications. Compartment sizes, cell layout and external contours can be adapted to the existing container and the respective component geometry.

  • variable cell and compartment dimensions
  • individual external contours
  • grip and indexing cut-outs
  • label and viewing windows
  • receptacles for different component geometries
  • production from prototype to series production

Compartment Inserts and Dividers Made from Solid Material

Compartment inserts made from solid plastic sheets are manufactured by die-cutting or milling. The dimensionally stable partitioning elements are particularly suitable for applications requiring a robust design, defined component guidance or regular cleaning.

Depending on the process environment, the geometry, material thickness, edges, cut-outs and drainage areas can be individually designed.

Plastic Compartment Inserts for Washing Baskets and Cleaning Processes

For industrial washing baskets, we manufacture partitioning elements from solid material that can be adapted to degreasing, de-oiling and cleaning processes. The design is application-specific and takes account of the media used, temperatures, component geometries and process sequences.

  • drainage openings and perforations for suitable media flow
  • stable positioning in the washing basket or load carrier
  • defined and process-reliable component guidance
  • deburred edges
  • optional edge chamfers
  • anti-slip or self-adhesive areas
  • material selection suitable for the media and temperature

Divider Combs and Divider Strips in Comb Design

Divider combs and divider strips form flexible, slot-together partitions for containers, boxes and transport packaging. The comb design allows individual elements to be connected and adapted to different compartment sizes or component geometries.

This design enables fast reconfiguration, defined component guidance and structured division of the available container space. It is particularly suitable for changing products, variants or batch sizes.

HKP Compartment Inserts Made from Hollow-Chamber Material

Compartment inserts made from PP hollow-chamber material are lightweight and dimensionally stable. Depending on the design, the components can be slotted together, folded or welded. HKP compartment inserts are particularly suitable as inserts for KLT and GLT containers, stacking containers, pallet boxes and reusable packaging.

For sensitive, painted or visible surfaces, the partitioning elements can optionally be laminated with non-woven fabric or textile. The lamination creates a softer contact surface between the component and the compartment insert.

Materials and Application-Specific Options

Materials for Plastic Compartment Inserts

The material selection is based on the component, container, load requirements and process environment. Materials used for production include PP hollow-chamber sheets and solid engineering plastics such as polypropylene and PE-HD.

Depending on the selected material and design, the partitioning systems can provide the following properties:

  • low-dust and low-abrasion surfaces
  • moisture resistance
  • resistance to application-relevant chemicals
  • easy cleaning
  • high dimensional stability
  • reusable design
  • dissipative or ESD-capable materials on request

Identification, Coding and Handling

Plastic compartment inserts can be fitted with additional identification and handling elements for integration into existing logistics and identification processes.

  • coding and identification areas for scanning
  • colour coding for visual allocation
  • document and label pockets
  • grip and indexing cut-outs
  • frames and additional stabilising elements
  • centring and stop elements
  • anti-slip or self-adhesive areas

Typical Applications for Plastic Dividers

KLT and GLT Compartment Inserts in Intralogistics

Custom compartment inserts for small load carriers and large load carriers organise components within the container and support orderly material flows. They are suitable for production, assembly, storage, order picking, sequencing and internal transport.

Partitions for Stacking Containers and Pallet Boxes

Dividers and separators divide stacking containers, pallet boxes and shipping packaging into defined receptacle areas. This allows different components to be stored, provided and transported in an organised manner.

Washing Baskets for Degreasing and De-Oiling Systems

Compartment inserts and partitioning elements made from solid material provide stable positioning, suitable media drainage and process-reliable component guidance during industrial cleaning, degreasing and de-oiling processes.

Sequencing and Provision at the Production Line

Defined compartment positions support the orderly, easy-to-grip and traceable provision of components directly at the line. The required components can be arranged in a defined sequence and allocated to the respective process step.

Individual Planning Based on the Container, Component and Process

Each partitioning system is adapted to the specific application. To design the system and prepare a quotation, we require the most precise information possible about the container, component, process environment and required quantity.

Please provide us with the following information in particular:

  • container type and internal dimensions of the KLT, GLT, stacking container, washing basket or pallet box
  • dimensions and geometry of the components to be accommodated
  • required number and arrangement of compartments
  • surface requirements of the components
  • required properties such as ESD capability or non-woven/textile lamination
  • required quantity
  • use in manual or automated processes
  • existing conveyor systems
  • cleaning processes, media used and temperatures
  • special identification, coding or handling requirements

On this basis, we design a dimensionally accurate, process-reliable and reusable partitioning system. Depending on the requirements, it is manufactured by die-cutting, milling, slotting together, folding or welding, or produced from solid material.

Frequently Asked Questions About Plastic Compartment Inserts and Dividers
